Design for Humanity brings together art, music, and fashion. The highlight of the event was probably the fashion show. The models strutted their stuff down the runway in bright neon swimsuits. The suits definitely had a sporty yet feminine edge. I guess we can expect to see more lace on the beach since it was a common theme throughout the show as cover-up pieces.
Walking around the back lot, there were plenty of artists at work using various mediums. From watercolor graffiti, painting, and spray-painting, you had pick to watch them create their vision.
In addition, there was an art gallery where you can bid on several pieces of artwork. Some of my favorites are as followed:
To cap off the night was a performance by electric duo FischerSpoon. The entire time I was watching the performance, I just kept thinking the male lead is the male equivalent of Lady Gaga mixed with a little bit of Harajuku Gwen Stefani. He was quite entertaining and put on an interesting show. There was plenty of entertainment for you whether it be art, music fashion or even food. There were several food truck placed around the backlot, from grilled cheese, vegan, cookie ice cream sandwich and hot dogs. The longest lines were for the bar.
